Our H.Barbouri ( seahorses ) Sparky passed tonight, he has been fighting a gas bubble problem for the last 5 days, gases were building in his pouch and making it hard for him to hitch and stay upright...we did pouch evac's.. but the next day he had the gas again.. Sparky was moved to a hospital tank 2 days ago and a treatment was started with Diamox and a reduced temp 20c. We found him floating in the H tank with 5 eggs floating next to him.. this would have been his first batch of fry... I feel something was wrong with the eggs as they were floating...

so sorry to hear you lost your seahorse. They are such wonderful sea creatures and totally amazing to me. I hear they are very hard to care for, and it seems that you did everything you could for her.

We have 2 H.Reidi ( pair ) and now 1 H.Barbouri, will try and get another, but I will miss him deeply, he would always come to the front and say hello and do a little dance. When ever I had my hand in the tank he would come and hitch on my little finger.
