Today is a sad day. I woke up this morning to find my beautiful "Bill" had left this earthly plane. He was a 6 year old Tinfoil Barb about 10 inches long. His death is a mystery though he was breathing hard yesterday. He was my absolutely oldest fish and very much a favorite. Tinfoil barbs will always be known as "Bill" to myself and my friends. His dopey looks and hungry tummy were always popular with kids. I'll miss this fish very much. He never will be replaced, never could be. I have two young Tinfoils left and they seem to be taking it well. They do look awfully confused though. "Bill number one" was twice their size and they were all good buddies as some barbs can be. OK, I need to get to work with somewhat dry eyes so I better stop talking about it. It's gonna let loose if I don't.

RIP Bill you were an incredible fish that many will remember for a very long time.

I've been thinking about it and I do recall wakiing up last night to a loud bang sound. Tinfoils are jumpers so I'm thinking he jumped a little too hard. He had knocked himself out in the past. I guess this time it went one step further. The tank looks so very empty now, even with 2 more Barbs, 2 Iridescent sharks and a huge Oscar. All big fish but there is a 10" by 6" bright silver chunk missing from the picture.

Thanks for the support, you guys rock. Bills fan club thanks you too. He had a lot of fans big and small.

Gozer, I am so sorry for your loss. I have shed tears over a fish I had for less than a year, I cannot imagine how painful it would be to lose one you have had for 6 years. Bill sounds like he was such a cool fella.....I certainly can understand how you and his "roomies" are all feeling his loss.
