Goodbye 3 of 5
Looked over my tank this evening and saw a member of the Collective stuck between a rock and the tank wall. After a bit of frantic scrambling (it's a deep tank on a high stand, and the rock was on the back wall, making it really difficult to get at), I released 1 of 5, the largest member of the continuum. Looking around, though, I couldn't find 3 of 5 (randomly named, as 3-5 are all about the same size).
On a whim, I picked up the rock that 1 of 5 had been caught on, and up floated a little fishy body.
I'm hoping that 1 of 5 was just trying to get at something that smelled interesting, and that this isn't something that's going to happen frequently.

Sorry to hear you lost some, I also hope it was a random thing. I named my guppy fry A to Z cause she dropped a whole alphabet, then she ate E.............

Now they're 1 of 4, 2 of 4, 3 of 4, and 4 of 4. (Star Trek Borg reference)
When I fill the tank out, it will probably be 1-20 of 20.
I've really got to say that losing schooling fish is easier than losing more individual fish, as their intelligence and personality seems to be as a whole.

We're sorry you lost 3 of 5. Is 1 of 5 scraped or anything?

I can't tell. He's pretty old, and his scales, which are mottled already because he's a gold barb, are getting faded in places, so it's hard to tell if he's got any injuries (missing scales, bruises, etc...). He doesn't have any raw red spots, though, so I'm pretty sure he's alright. He was swimming odd last night (with his tail angled upward), but he does that periodically anyway, and he's not today.
Crud, I need to get more fish in that tank. At least more glassfish, but maybe more barbs, really quickly. The smaller of the barbs is, as I type, chasing the others around the tank, nipping at their top fin and tails.

I guess maybe you could add some liquid vitamins or slime coat enhancer to be safe, but hopefully he doesn't have any real damage from his adventure.

I have been adding vitachem, and I gave them an extra dose of Ultimate (similar to Prime, it detoxifies heavy metals, adds slime coat, etc...), and I've been feeding them a mix of Sun Ce's food (Sun Ce is the betta, and he has a high-quality, fish-meal free flake food) and the homemade stuff I made for the Mollies.
He has developed a bruise on his side, but is acting fine (he's even playing in the streams of water when I pour some into the tank, one of his favorite passtimes). I'm guessing it's no worse than a bad bruise on a human's thigh, painful but not debilitating.
