Hi there...I know that the fish I recently aquired are Longfin Gold Zebra Danios, but what I need help with are their markings. One of the longfin gold danios has three white dots on his top dorsal fin while the smaller one does not. Is this normal coloration or possibly ich? I have began medicating the tank both as a response to these dots and as a preventive measure for the health of all my fish in the tank, but the spots do not appear to be shrinking, and I am not sure if these white dots on his dorsal fin are normal or not. Can anyone help me? Please!!!!

Do they look like grains of salt? It sounds like ich and the tank temp. needs to be raised to 82 and kept at least that warm for 2 weeks to treat the tank for ich.

Not quite that small...but thanks...i didnt relaize that it might take 2 weeks to cure...last time my fish had ich I was able to get rid of it in about four days using jungle fish care's fungus clear...it seems to work quite well. Thanks for the advice. I am keeping a close eye on them...they are quite beautiful and entertaining...hopefully i can clear this up.

if you want to use a med also, kordon makes an organic ich med called ich-attack that won't harm the good bacteria.
