Any clue what kind of fish this is?

Ok, so I took ownership of a free tank with one fish left in it and one small baby that was unkown to the owner. Im trying to figure out what kind of fish it is and what would be compataible.. From my online research I think its a cichlid, of african origin, maybe a fully matured male convict? If so, I think ill be having trouble finding some mates. Any help or suggestions would be greatlly apreciated. Here is a pic!@!

Im new to the fish world!!

I would say that it is a frontosa, these guys get huge and aggressive. What size is the tank, you might want to find him a new home if it is under at least 5' though it is better at 6'.

I would say a frontosa, they do grow really big our lfs has two in a display tank, they are very attractive and I must say very, very big. They get a really deep blue through their bars as they mature. You are lucky to have that fish given to you, small ones here cost around $90. Have fun with your new tank.
