Hi ,i think it is a Eight-banded leporinus(leporinus octofasciatum) but i cant be sure because the picture is a bit blurred .The number of bands on them seem to vary ,so is there any chance of a better picture .

Just google Leporinus, you should be able to pin down the species from there. They are cool-looking fish, but tend to be aggressive.

Ya im pretty shure thats the fish I have noticed it is a some what of an aggressive fish but there are lots of cichlids and loaches in my tank so there isnt really a problem. It only really fights with one of the yoyo loaches but its nothing serious. I have another pic enyway though.

Nine bands = L. fasciatus if I remember correctly...

It was in a petcetera lol unlikely place for such a nice fish.

I guess you never know where you'll find an unusual beauty of a fish.. i really like how that fish looks.

Leporinus fasciatus- they need veggies in it's diet and a tight fitting lid. something I found interesting- They have fewer stripes a juveniles and the stripes are wider. as they get older th stripes divide down the middle until they have nine.
