1st GBR: dark black spot on both sides, no blue sparkle in black spots, rounded pelvic fins, elongated front spine, no pink belly, very colorful, aggressive towards smaller fish, follows 2nd GBR.
2nd GBR: faint black spot on both sides, blue sparkle in black spots, sharp pelvic fins, elongated front spine, no pink belly, a litte less colorful, not aggressive.
I purchased these 2 because they were swimming with each other in the LFS tank and their characteristics (as described above) were different enough for me to think they were of the opposite sex. But after reading articles on how to sex them, I became even more confused. Any suggestions on what sex they are would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hi,
they are gorgeous! I miss my GBR's when I see vids such as yours. Its hard to tell, but IMO it does look like you possibly have a pair there. The second one that seems to have more pink on it may be a female.
funkman262 did you look at the link provided in post # 2 ?
Carol
Yes, Carol, I did (along with many other websites for sexing GBRs). Unfortunately, they just confused me even more. I'm fairly certain that the 1st GBR that I mentioned is a male, but then the 2nd one seems to have characteristics of both males and females. Capekate noticed some pink on the second one that I didn't see, so maybe it is a female. Any other opinions are welcomed

Thank you Capekate. I was really excited when I got them because I knew they'd be a great addition to the tank. I really hope they are a pair. They're not showing any aggression towards each other that 2 males would probably show.

Sorry you were confused. Sexing GBR's can be that way at times
The female may be a bit immature still and not showing lots of rosy/violet. If they are a pair when they go into spawning mode you will see a definite color difference
Good Luck!
Carol
