I bought this cichlid from Walmart awhile ago, its getting quit agressive he doesn't like any other fish getting close to his favorite

hidding spot or he would chase other fish til they get away, it grew larger but i never knew that type of cichlid it is, it only

saids "African Cichilid" on the price tag, so would someone please help me idenify wha type of cichlid it is, and how can i idenity its

sex, thank you!

ps: are there any chance that it'll mate with my electric yellow cichlid (i don't really know the specific name i think its labino

something ) and onething i realize that my cichilid is been picking up gravel rocks and stacking them and removing them from

certain spot, is that a sign that they're about to lay eggs or something?

sorry i'm kind of new to cichlids keeping, i used to keep mollies and guppies

isnt that a electric blue african cichlid. If you want you can google,elctric blue african cchlid information..and in one of those somewhere it should say its real scientific name, its actually really easy

With it coming from Walmart, it is doubtful that it is not a hybrid of some sort.
It is some sort of African rift cichlid.
Which explains the aggressive behavior.
With the lack of egg spots on the anal fin, I would guess it is probably female.
