Is this your Loach? It's very pretty.

Welcome. Posting the same question in more than one forum gets confusing as you will get answers everywhere LOL. this way they will all be in one place.
Did the place you bought them from have them labeled at all?
They are loaches and good job getting more than one as loaches like to be in groups.
The link I gave you is pretty close if not right on and will help you provide for it adequately. They look to get about six inches so you may need to upgrade your tank size in the near future. Loaches are wonderful and intelligent fish. Enjoy!

When i went to the shop i got a red tailed black shark.I asked the boy in the shop what i could put with it and he pointed these out.i liked the look of them and just said ok lol bit silly i didnt realse till i got home that i didnt get there name.

It would be helpful to find out. These particular loaches are in the family Botia(can tell by shape of mouth/nose) and have pretty much the same needs. but it would be nice to know their name for sure. Since they share the same area of the tank I'm not sure you LFS person is right that they will get along. what size tank are they in and how long has it been set up?

my tanks 50 uk gal and its been set up for nearly 2 months,the problem i have is im new to the whole thing and when i go to the shop he walks round with me and tells me what i can and cant have.ive spent nearly £600 in that shop so i like to think i can trust him lol.

Thats the people i go to Maidenhead Aquatics its just in a differnt town they have a good rep,
