It doesn't matter if you get a fish in the U.S. or in Australia...an A. Labiatus (red devil) is a A. Labiatus. Your fish first is not for sure. I also doubt the first one you got is a barred midas either, those fish grow in a short and tall kinda way, where as your is long and slender if you know what I mean. What happened to the first one anyway, do you still have it?
Now I am confused about the video....not a word anyone.....
Did you show that video to show us the stripped fish? If you think your fish is similiar to the stripped one in the video then sorry dude you didn't get a red devil again. Like I said these two fish, the red devil and the barred midas, are two fish in the hobby where 99% of the time they will be hybrids. These two fish have been screwed by hobbiest for far too long, meaning breeding the two together, and geting a pure one is difficult. I know the shop promised you it is a red devil, and it may very well be. But if you think yours looks very much like the stripped fish in the video well you may have been lied to again.
I say give it some time and see if it goes through a color change before you run out and buy another one. You said it is just under 3" right? Although it should have begun a color change by now, who knows maybe it is a late bloomer
