Howdy,

What kind of apisto is this girl, she's very territorial, and doesnt get along with anyone ha


i got her cause I thought she was the same kind as my male flame apisto, and the fish shop didnt know any better, cause i said i wanted a boy and girl and he sold them to me together saying they were the same, but over time i have found out that they're far from being the same, as they do not like each other at all. I found my male some girls now but I dont know what to get her as i dont know what she is. any ideas?

wow, i thought i would have had an answer by now..... well i found out from the fish shop i got him from and had disagreements about how they sold him to me.he's a male borelli. anyways i took him back and got another female cacatuoides, (i think...... i'm so lost now) they all look so similar

Hi nitram. Glad you solved the ID of your fish. I have no experience with apistograms... yet.

A LFS have some for sale but they don't know which species they have. I don't like getting fish I have no clue how to care for. Here's a pic of the species at the LFS, looks a lot like yours (I think).

Hi Nitram, yep it's definatly a Borelli. I keep a pair of them with my show Guppies and they're about the most peaceful fish I've ever owned.

yeah pepetj, they all look very similar especially when they are small. those ones in the pic aer similar to some other ones i have but i dont think they are the same either.

and nick i have to say, my little male was a little **** ha ha, he claimed a section of my tank and would chase and nip at all my other apistos
. i took him back to the shop and swapped him for another fish, well i paid $5 bucks so not to bad considering i had him for a while.
