| Water salamander?? Hi all
Does anyone know anything about the requirements of this weird creature. EG: size tank, cold water, tropical?, Feeding? Do they live completly in water?
I really like its unusual appeal and they have 3 in my LFS.
Thanks Fishlorians |

| If I remember correctly they are often called waterdogs. I read once if you give them more land than water as they age they loose the gills, tiger salamanders I believe. Cool creature.

Or maybe not, I just read Shawnie's link...... |

| All salamanders and newts go thru a stage where they have the feather gills. Yours are a species that never leave the water. Others eventually grow up and head for the marshes and breed in water only, same life cycles as frogs....there are a couple of exceptions. |
