Hey I'm sure this is very simple but i've never looked closely at mollies so im not sure. I bought this fish as a platy and as far as I knew she was, but my friend is convinced she is a molly because she is bigger than my other platies and her scales are much bigger - so I thought i'd ask here to know for sure.

So is she a molly or platy? Thanks!

Thanks for the fast replies I guess I'll rehome her so she can live with her own species.. no wonder she never mated with my male platy despite his best efforts! :P

Looks like a molly, but then again, I also made a purchase like you and mine ended up being a swordtail female.

It is either a swordtail or molly, that's for sure. I am not sure which one either. I actually think it is a swordtail.
