Well guys I got my order from my fish and look like the guy messed up my order or something because I got this guy and looks to me like a Convict or a different kind of african Cichlid. This guy is High instead of long. can you guys help me please?

Thanks Guys I got him on my order so I guess I will be taking him to the LFS because I don't have a tank for him.

i just talked on the phone with the seller and he's going to refund me the money for 3 fish and the one that they send by mistake. Which BTW he said is a kind of Earth Eater. Thanks Guys. I wish I could keep him but don't have any South American tank and can't put it on the community tank.

Here a pic of the Earth Eater on the breeding tank till i get him to the LFS to see if the wants to take him/her. Along with about 30 Silver Lyretail Mollies.

So this is the fish I ended up by mistake with my order. Is called a 'Geophagus' sp. "Bahia Red" South American Cichlid.

Eartheaters are beautiful! I would keep it!

If you Google Geophagus you won't get rid of it.

I actually did it but I don't have a tank for this guy. He will grow to big for my extra tanks. and my big tanks are already full. The 100 has all my African Cichlids and the 55 has the community fish. I felt bad taking him to the LFS but I really didn't have the room for him. When I called the owner to ask him I said if he want it one and he said yes. The son in law was so desperate to see the fish. haha. I also took about 20 Silver Lyretail Mollies.

Why not keep in large homemade trap to see what it grows into. i think its neither GT nor JD. Looks more like Geophagus or its related species but too small to tell. If pic of fish in water is avail, maybe possible to ID!
PS: i guess i did not read all the postings, lol!
