goldfish or minnows?

Three of these fish were in the used tank I bought about two months ago and the previous owners said they were goldfish but that they just never grew big. However, I came across a website about rosy minnows, and they look exactly like my unknown fish. My mystery fish are between 2 and 2.5 inches in length. I thought someone here might have more experience and be able to see if my fish are goldfish or minnows.

The minnow website with pictures:

These look more like rosy red minnows to me - definitely not goldfish...

found a couple of pics online - these are called rosy red or rosy red fathead minnows.

Yea, their fins would indicate minnows.

Oh good. That means the tank isn't quite as hopelessly overstocked.

Thanks for the help!

I had some rosy minnows a long time ago, also had some guppies that had bee bred in cold water, they interbred, and I ended up with rosy guppies, very pretty looking pale orange guppies, with rosy red cheeks, very unusual, and always a good talking point.
