Please Help ID this Cichlid

I bought him back in March when he was a baby and I have no clue what he is. I'm sure they told me, but I cannot remember.

I was having trouble getting a picture. TIA.

Thank you so much!! So eventually they will get color, or will they stay the same?

The females stay w/o color redish, and then the males are the colorful ones, so I am guessing you have a girl.

I think I could be a female Metriaclima greyshakei...Ice Blue zebra or Red top as they look similar when young.

I guess I was stearing clear of the Ice blue zebra because I have one that is about 2 inches long tha I have been raising since it was about an inch long and its had the brightest blue colors.

We've had all sizes of ice blues. Our 3" ones were sold to us as Red Tops but I know that the male red tops are dark blue right away. I wanted red tops not ice blues.
They are both too aggressive for what we are keeping now tho.
Females rts and ibs look almost identical as do all the ones which are brownish/red.
Here are our old breeding pair of ice blues

Our male Red Top full grown we had him 2 years ago but he died.

He is cute...have you seen him get really light so that his black/blue bars pop in color. So awesome!
Our greyshakei male use to get so light when in breeding mode he looked like he had no bars at all. Again so cool! I love African cichlids for their color/mood changes.
