I went to Petland last Friday and I could not pass up a new color Tiger barb... the problem is forgot to ask and now I have not clue what kind he is. My avatar is a pic of the Tiger in question and I also have a few more of him in my gallory. If anyone knows it would be helpful. Thanks!

I have never seen a tiger barb like this before. It may be a hybrid or may have been selectively breed for this color.

The fact that he is unusual makes me that much happier I got him. I just wish I had a bigger tank so I could have got more than one. Next time I am in the store I’ll have to ask. Thanks anyway.

I can't really see the picture very well but from what I can see it looks more like our Black skirt tetras instead of a tiger barb.

It is a Ruby Barb. We have one here in with some African cichlids which he has lived with at a friend's house for the past year. Tough fishy.

I looked up a Rosy Barb and he does look like a hybrid of a Tiger and Rosy barb. Now I really wish I had got more than one, but darn my small tank!!!!
