are the feamle rainbows fins shorter than the males?

Probably a Pearl Danio, possibly a Blue Danio.

No, it could not be a crossbred hybrid of the two.

The pictures shown in the example above, the three pictures (one danio one of the fish in question and one of a rainbow all dorsal fin shots) I would like to point out the fish in question's dorsal fin is shaped exactly like the dorsal of the rainbow pic provided.

thats exactly what i saw...hence my "are the females fins shorter than the males?" question

Keep in mind that most dorsal fins look that way when lowered.

Ditto, plus it lacks the first little small fin before the extended part that all rainbows have.

I took the fish into the local petstore and he told me it was a Giant Danio. Wow! I appreciate all the responses. Thank you all!
