I just joined the forum and would like to know what this fish is. I have 2 that I got a couple years ago and they were about an inch and a half long. Now they're almost 9" long! They're prehistoric looking and cool to watch. I think its a 'Plecostomus suttoni'.
Any comments?

Yes, it looks very similar to Panaque cochliodon.
In Volume 12 of "Aquarium USA" 2006 Annual, pg. 28, there is a picture that is also a close match, but they call it a "blue-eyed pleco, Plecostomus suttoni, sensitive to sudden changes in water chemistry".

They've both grown close to 8" in two years and very often, hand upside-down!
