1) Dino, Mr. Butterfly, and Butterfly at the hollow but alive tree.
2) Heather, the plant not a person.
3) Just testing the camera's zoom.
4) More side of the cliff rock formations at the dam.
5) We were tired, it was funny...

1) More birds
2) Butterfly's new Rainbows
3) The rocks from the Diamond field adventure. That big one is the Kimberlite
4) Rock-pile closeup
5) 95 pound kimberlite. That was a BUGGER and a half to carry a couple hundred yards to the car from the field.
The rock pile is going to be split between the Butterflies and Dino and I and put in tanks. (only one rock in the picture is possibly not tank safe, it will be left out, but it is a tiny one.) We do not need to hear, 'it will raise your pH' we know what we are doing. (Not meaning to sound rude, just saving someone's fingers the energy of typing that. )

1) A piece of Kimberlite for Kimberly (Gunnie). Gunnie is the other member of 'The Mod-Squad' that sadly was unable to make this adventure, but maybe next time.

Post 34: picture 1, the photo does not pick up the weird color the soil actually is.
We took a dozen photos trying to get one that showed the real color, but no luck.
Post 34: picture 3, beaver lodge not dam.
As you can see, we had another cool day.
I hate that it will be time to go tomorrow.

1) Petrified wood piece we bought for $2 per pound. (It is a 12 pound piece with a NICE hole we will smooth out, so no fish harm themselves if they choose to use that as a breeding cave.)
2) Same piece taken in the dark with a small light over it, looks kinda alienistic or something.

Oh forgot to get pictures of this. It is Butterfly's petrified wood piece. $2 per pound at 16 pounds.
Of course the hand-model we are using in most of the pictures of someone holding something is Fishlore's very own, Dino the original 'Alien fish santa claus'

Petrified wood is pretty much chemically inert.
Many pet shops sell it for use in fish tanks.

Well they just left, and it was really hard to see them go. It was a very enjoyable few days. CWC took some awesome pictures and will be posting more of them later I'm sure. Hubby went back with them to take care of personal business and will come back later in the week. I'm not sure I should turn these three loose on even a short road trip

Carol, Dino, and Chief: WONDERFUL PHOTOS!
I ABSOLUTELY love that shot of Angus! He looks so handsome. In fact, he's the most handsome black cat I've ever seen! His eyes are so beautiful! Such a serious face in this shot, lol
The rock layers at the dam look like the Grand Canyon itself, lol. Another GREAT shot Chief Also, love all the landscape and nature shots. The lake looks so mesmerizing with all the colorful fall trees. Great scene for photography. I love colorful fall frees, especially over lakes, etc.
And lastly, love the tiny frog! I love small frogs, though I don't think I'd want to hold one of those huge frogs/toads, lol. Chief, looking at your nature shots makes me want to go to the Pocono mountains in PA right now! (I usually go in the summer, and occasionally in the winter, though going there in the fall must be cool as well.)

Hi Butterfly..LOl to leaving those 3 to themselves!!! From my contact with CWC & Dino they are pretty neat guys - and I am sure your husband is too, you all looked like you were having a great time - and that is what friends are all about.
Looks like you had such fun- you squeezed a lot of things into that short time!!
My black kitty Blackmale looks just like your Angus - aren't cats great And Isabella is right - your Angus looks very serious - like "can you get this over with -I have stuff to do" LOL
Cats & fish are a great combo!!
Looking forward to the rest of the pictures!!

Just heard from the guys and they all made it to their destinations safely.
We knew we had a short time to visit so we crammed it full. These two are so easy to be around so it was very relaxing.
Dino introduced Angus to the Laser thingy and has been pacing around the house which makes me sure he's looking for his laser buddy . Last night Angus would look at Dino and then the table where the laser was then back at Dino until he(Dino) would play with him. So now I have a spoileder(is that a word?) cat

As Butterfly stated, we are back home.
We came home to a PAINTED FISHHOUSE!!!!!
CWC's parents and brother painted it while we were gone!!!
We picked up a few rubberlipped plecos and a nice adult male bristlenose while we were there and we have them safety in tanks now.
More pictures tomorrow.

Isabella,
To be fair a couple of the shots were shots Dino took. I had him snap another shot of a hillside alongside the interstate on the way home, but I haven't checked the picture yet, and I was putting the speed limit to shame with a minivan, so... unsure how it will look. The camera is in the van that is all like... outside and stuff, and I am inside and stuff.. pictures will be tomorrow.
Thank you all for your compliments and such. Butterfly and I decided that once the thread dies down some in a week or so I will move the thread over to The Fishhouse Blog.
Butterfly, Collin, and Angus are more dangerous having a few days alone than the three guys on an 8 hour drive. (Mapquest said 10 hours, but mapquest goes by speed limit. )

Oh, also, dad was too busy looking at his new canes ( he collects canes and walking sticks, and I had brought one from Mr. Butterfly and also bought one at the Diamond Crater) that mom got first hit as the bucket of crater soil we carted out.
No diamonds so far, but she was talking about hauling out the magnafying goggles and tweezers to go thru it a tiny bit at a time.
Glad to know the three of you got some rest.
I know Angus is tired after a few days of chasing red spot thingy ( the light from the laser pointer).
