Re: Fish Food: Goldfish + Tropical.

Goldies have different needs than tropicals. They need less meat in their diet, and do better with plants and plant proteins. Be careful not to feed them too much meaty foods on a regular basis. I have read this can cause them lots of problems.

It's a special blend for coldwater fish, but you can also feed it to your tropical fish.

Well here it says that platys can live in a tank of 18 to 26 degrees (not *F)http://www.fishlore.com/Profiles-Platy.htm. My room temp.. is in the middle.

Thanks for pointing that out. I disagree with that. I don't think any tropical fish should be in a tank at a constant temp. of less than 78 degrees.

Re: Fish Food: Goldfish + Tropical.

The profile states 65-78F. I think the 65F is a little cool for them .They still need a heater to keep the water temps at a steady temp. Room temp will vary from morning to night and without a heater so will the water temp.

Re: Fish Food: Goldfish + Tropical.

There are too many cold water fish for me to list. Here is a book I have on cold water fish and it's very interesting. http://www.petsparade.co.uk/books/co...m-fish/?p=1132
Besides making your own list would be more beneficial for you as you could read about them as you research them

I don't want to buy anything so I would rather look at the book I was reading in my school library.
