Frozen food help

Okay I am having some major issues with bloodworms or any type of larvae. I used to use them and my fish loved them but now they gross me out so bad I can't even buy them anymore. I can feed them gross stuff and I can smush snails for them but there is something about bloodworms that gets the best of me. I do not have a weak stomach. I can give them live earthworms and other live foods without a problem. Maybe it is the fact that maggots have always got the best of me and I can't hardly think of them without wanting to hurl. But come on I have raised two kids and we all know what they will put you through. How can those little worms do this to me?

Don't hurl SWilkins! lol Sorry you and the blood worms don't mix well. Sounds like it may be time for a different type of food. Does just looking at them make you feel ill or is it touching them that does it? Both? There are ways to get around touching them. An eye dropper or a turkey baster perhaps.
Best wishes.

Ken I can't even stand the thought of them in my house. I know this is bad because my fish really love them but apparently they are going to have to live without them. I never did touch them I used either tweezers or something like that to pick them up but I managed. Then I had Michael feeding them to the fish and now I can't even do that. I mean come on I know I am nuts but to have something dead creep me out that bad. It is as bad as my spider fear and I will practically run over little kids to get away from spiders.

lol Chef is the spider killer in this house! I'm sure you can find other foods your fish will love just as much. There is no need to make yourself sick over it that's for sure. Feeding time should be a pleasurable experience for us all.

I'm sorry, I'm giggling here.
I wonder why all of a sudden you're having such a reaction to BW's.
Did it come on quickly?

Goodness, if it's not the fish acting up, it's the food causing problems for ya

I wouldn't be overly concerned about not being able to feed bloodworms or any type of larvae anymore. You feed your fish such a variety of foods, including live, they'll be perfectly fine

Hi SWilkins,

Sorry, what a fun laugh you gave me! I give mine dried bloodworms and just shake a few into the lid of their container. They do smell though! My question to you is HOW do you feed the earthworms! Are they frozen or out of the yard? I could NOT use them as food nor could I enjoy watching the fish eat it - gross!!!

Move on to another food.... Keep us updated!

Yeah I scream for help when there is a spider around and if Tommy or Michael are not here to save me usually a dog will...thank goodness.

Well I have just made myself use them before but it is just getting worse and worse so I won't even buy them anymore.

Nope not even the dried blood worms. Earthworms don't bother me at all just get them out of the yard rinse them off and chunk them in the tank.
