Feeding zucchini?

I have 2 BN plecos and they have had zucchini before and they LOVED it, but I somehow got it to sink and I can't remeber how. Is there anything I can use as a subsititute for a veggie clip? Thanks.

Before my veggie clip, I used to jab a chopstick through mine and weigh the ends of the stick under rocks or decor. That way, none of the zucchini is blocked by the rock or whatever you use to weigh it down. If you have a spare spoon (I got one at a thrift store just to try this out), you can jab the zucchini on the spoon and then it's weighted down on it's own without messing with rocks or decor.

I use a stainless steel fork to spear cucumbers for my tank. It works great just rinse, rinse, rinse...........

Good morning. I use plant weights and just run them through the food and they sink.

you can also use mellon and mango ( mine go nuts over the stuff) to feed ur BN also if u blanch the zucchini first it will help to make it sink just remember to remove any seeds as these can clog your filter.
oh and mango is dense enough to sink withought needing to be waighed down in any way just cut a slice and add and watch ur BN go mad for it

I blanch mine - it sinks on it's own.

It means you quick boil it for just a second and then place it into ice water right away. It makes veggies sinks.

I love this forum! I always find useful information. Can't wait to get some mango for my bn. She loves bell pepper--especially the orange kind. I'm going to see if the blanching works for that. I used to use the plant weights but got some seaweed clips to try.

I my smaller tanks I use the plant weights too. For the big tanks I use the clips but you could use the weights there too.
