Help With Bloodworms

How do you get bloodworms to sink? When ever I put them in my tank, they float all over, and get eaten before my cories can get them. But I've seen pictures and videos of fish eating them off a big blob in the gravel. Any tips? Thanks.

If im correct then I think the "blob in the gravel" is probably a frozen block of bloodworms. Maybe try frozen? You could slightly dissolve it with your fingers in the water and push it to the bottom for your corys.

If you're using the freeze dried bloodworms, you can pre-soak them in some tank water before feeding. The thawed frozen ones I use sink on their own.

freeze dried bloodworms will float ontop the water until they either get eaten or go uneaten, where they'd eventually sink to the bottom as uneaten food unless your cories picked them up then

frozen bloodworms usually are sold in packages and are formed into square blocks. These square blocks fall to the bottom and melt and thats the 'blob' u see at the bottom in the pictures

I looked at the package, it says Frozen Fish Food. But they're not packaged in little blocks, they're a big sheet of worms and you have to break them off.
I think I'll try to push it down to the bottom before my gourami can get at them. Thanks.

I've had the same problem with feeding frozen bloodworms to my ADF, although it seems the blocks float when they're frozen and sink when they thaw.

Thaw them in a little medicine cup with tank water...then poor them in. Works great!

I usually thaw my worms out before I use them. I don't like putting in the frozen block whole as I have read in several places that it can be bad for your fish. Don't know if that's true or not but I'm not one to risk it. Just pick a spot where there is a downward current & pour some of the thawed worms in there. Usually it is at the opposite end to the filter outlet if it is near the surface. Either that or my preference is to pour the worms out right in front of the filter outlet. They will be spread right through the entire tank within just a few seconds ensuring that they are on all levels for all your fish.

Good morning. I use frozen blood worms that come in one large sheet and have to break it off as you do. I thaw them first. I actually use a syringe (plastic) that came with a test kit to suck them up and then I squirt them in the tank. They sink My new boy Wriggley (betta) loves 'em!
