Do Copepods work in a freshwater aquarium?

Hello, I was wondering if you could use Copepods in a freshwater aquarium. Thanks for your time. I've looked all over for an answer, but I cannot seem to find a definitive one.

I wouldn't reccomend using a betta to cycle your tank. I don't really have a definite answer either.

There are freshwater copepods so they ought to work....we have them in the ponds back from our home. If you have small ones they are great food for the betta.
BUT:
I heartly agree with catfishlover...why possibly sacrifice a Betta to cycle? Please read our info pages on cycling.

If they are the copods for a saltwater tank then no. They will require the water to be salty to survive.

Okay Thank You and the tank was already cycled before adding the betta. I just used him as a test for my bio load really.

He is now in a 2.5 gallon tank.
