Cichlids food

So I was looking for an idea to make my own fish food and found this recipe:
1lb of whole shrimp heads and all.
1lb of frozen peas
2 hand fulls of frozen broccoli
2 tsp of pure spirulina powder
5ml of multivitamins (vita chem works or if not infants liquid vitamins-my favorite)
5 packages of unflavored gelatin.

To my mix I added half a pack of frozen blood worms in cubes and half a pack of frozen brine shrimp.

Thaw out peas, broccoli and shrimp. Blend it on a food processor or blender(recommend do it separate) and then mix it on a big bowl.(shrimp is going to take a bit to blend) if need to add a little of water to blend it is ok just not too much. Add the vitamins to the mix. Now to the gelatin. Ok so Knox gelatin comes in packages of 4 unfortunately. Well take one cup of water an boil in low heat. open the 5 gelatin packages and put them all in a small cup(easier this way) when water is starting to boil turn the stove off and add little by little the gelatin powder and mix gotta be careful not to chunk it up. Add 1 cup of room temp water to the warm gelatin and mix it really good. after is all mix put it with the mix on the bowl and add your spirulina powder and mix the heck out of it. Take a big cookie sheet put aluminum foil on it and pour your green mix on it make sure you make it about a 1/4" thick. Put it on the freezer and when hard cut it in squares of about 1/4" to 3/8". Put it on ziplock back in the freezer. Fish love it. This will last you for about 2 to three months depending on how many you put in the tank. I do 2 or 3. try it with your fish and let me know the reaction. haha i know is good. I'm giving it to my bettas too they love it.

great recipe!!!!!! going to add some of this to mine!!
another member had some recipe's also but instead of the gelatin, they used egg to cook throughout the mixture for the consistency , then froze that.......someone on another site I visit, said a marine biologist she knows, said gelatin can be dangerous to fish..ive been trying to find info on that as I have been using gelatin for 8 years or so....do you know anything about that navy?
