I was at my LFS last weekend and saw some tetra food that enhanced colours (cant remeber what it was called) does it actually work? and is it safe?

Most foods claim to enhance color.
Some do have ingrediants that will ehance the reds in some fish. I've mostly seen foods that have the red pigment in it.

Haven't tried it yet, only reason I bought it was because it was a comparable price to the normal kind

Tetra is a famous comapny, so I don't think they'd sell unsafe products.

I've never been able to tell any difference in the colors of my fish by using color enhancing food. It doesn't hurt them though.

tetra brand foods uses fish meal and additives and not whole fish like omega one and hikari...although I Have the omega one "more color for your fish" flakes LOL, I believe a nice varied diet does the same..for the most part, it colors the fishies poo but havnt seen more colorful fish using it
