I don't go through a lot of fish food, so I keep the majority of my fish food in the original container in the fridge. I've read that it will keep the food fresher longer. I just take out portions as I need it.

fish food like any food, once it is exposed to air begin oxidizing and breaking down. Even when stored in a cool dry place dark place my uderstanding is that food begins to loose nutrient value after about three months. I by the smallest containers i can find. As for frozen foods, they supposedly can last for a year or more if not leaft out for long periods as i understand it. I have friends who buy in bulk, freeze it and take out small portions for use.

the best thing you can do to keep it fresh longer is put it in a ziplock bag instead of the original container. that way you can keep as much air out of it as possible
