Crickets ?
I am thinking of buying some crickets from my LFS, chopping them up and feeding them to my tetras and corys.
What do you think ?

Um... I tried feeding one to my green spotted puffer and he ate it... he LOVED it... but I'm not too sure about the tetras... I'm thinking go for it... but Drew I'm just not sure.

why don't you try brine shrimp or blood worms

I get crickets and put them in a kritter keeper for a couple weeks with something called "gut load" ...its a bunch of different vitamins and minerals that the crickets eat and then they get fed to my fish and lizard

No freezer and I want something most live......

I do not have a freezer and they are the smallest live food my LFS sells.

You can use crickets, but I don't think it should be used as a staple food. For your cories you can get sinking pellets and then freezedried stuff for your tetras...
