Weekend Feeders

Hi all,

Both my room mate and I are going away for three days for Thanksgiving. I've never used the weekend feeders before, so I'd like to know if I need to take any precautions. Should I do a water change or anything before I add them? Also, what is your favorite type/ brand?

Oh, and I'll need one for my community tank and one for my betta tank. Should I feed them both a different type?

Thanks!

I wouldn't use them personally. They are dangerous to your water quality. Your fish will be fine for 3 days without food.

Check out the Tetra Weekend Tropical Slow Release Feeder. It contains no paris plaster but a gel, allegedly it won't cloud your water and last up to five days.

Otherwise your fish will likely be OK without food for 72 hours. You might find your tank a bit cleaner though, since all might go into a forced tank's-algae-diet.
