My fish love these and it's good for them.
If you haven't tried this, you should.

Would this replace flakes or just vary their diet more?

It's suppose to be a replacement for flake, but it has high protein 46% content so it would be best for carnivorous. I use flakes, crisps, pellets, crumbles, granules for all of my fish. They need a varied diet for growth and color.

I love them, b/c I can crumple up the crisps for the mbuna fry. I have been giving my girl Bettas some of it too. The crisp are perfect for them. Protein and small sized crisps.

I use these as well... they dont seem to go stale as fast as flakes do... and they dont break into 50,000 microscopic pieces in the container lol!

Ending up with a container of dust at the end.
