feeding fish

I've read that fish endure fasting in the wild and if you go on vacation that you don't need to feed the fish. Well I'm gone just about every weekend. Will my fish be okay for the 2 days I'm not there to feed them?

-thanks

They should be fine for 2 days, no worries!
I'm assuming they're all adults?

just feed them right when you leave and when you come back, 2 days should be fine.

I agree 2 days for adult fish is fine... they can actually live a week or more without food, not that I would recommend it lol

K thanks everyone.. I assumed they would be fine. I was just worried because this is every weekend not just a one time thing. And I only have 6 cherry barbs right now and they look full grow but I plan on buying some angelfish down the road and I doubt I will buy them at the 6 inch adult size.

As long as they are not fry or very young then that should still be fine... maybe get a weekend feeder either way just so you dont have to worry about them going without

I am also away most weekends, the longest I left them is 4 days. (8 tanks, 1 is fry). I fed them when I left ; tanks were all cleaned and they were all fine when I came home. And hungry.

( Now this is assuming your tanks are cycled; filtered and heated - I wouldn't do it otherwise)

It was a case of "It hurt me more than it hurt them"...I missed the little mites!
