So when i got my new 55gal it had salt and brine shrimp eggs and a 1gal mini bowl. can i use it to hatch the shrimp? im guess i might try it.

You probably could do that. Just google raising brine shrimp if you're not planning on feeding the BBS to the fish.

I find that a ratio of 1/8 tsp to 1 tbsp of aquarium salt makes a very good yield. I keep a bubble stone in to keep them moving around and only take it out to collect the bbs. I use all treated water.

I use one of those black boxes though and a collection vial to get the bbs to swim up towards light.

Thanks, and My buddy gave my sum API aquarium salt that he dont need, will it work with the shrimp when i run out? BTW it mad from seawater.

The shrimp will be a reddish color if hatched right?

More orange than red, but a sort of orange-red color.
