Vacation Feeding

Are thoes 10 day fish feeder blocks okay to put in a tank?
I'll be going on for a trip back home to Newfoundland next month, and don't trust my friends to feed my fish. (They always feed too much!)

And would you need more than one in a larger tank?

We went to florida for a week and a half in April. We dropped a block in our 29gal, and a betta food block in our betta tank.. All the fish were alive when we got home...

I would suggest against the chalk style blocks. The food can be big enough to block the digestive tracks of smaller fish (this has happened to one members' mollies).
Go with the gel feeder blocks instead.

I have never seen those that sounds cool. To me it was a choice of buying a automatic feeder for all the tanks or the chalk blocks. Gel sounds better do you have a link?

Petsmart (at least all of the local ones) carries the gel blocks. They're little shallow plastic cups with foil over the top. You peel the foil off and drop them in.

Edit: I think that, with the automatic feeders, you get what you pay for. The cheap feeders can fail on you, dumping the entire load of food in the tank in a day.
