Treats for my Gold Fish?

Hi,
this is HockeyRef WIFEY here....

is there a good TREAT for my GOLD FISH??

i feed them regular gold fish flake, one time i thought i would get fancy and got them expensive "aquadine" food. poor Baby almost choked on it.

i see Rick's fish LOVE LOVE LOVE bloodworms and its a great treat for them.

i LOVE my gold fishies so much and would like to give them a special treat every now and then. any ideas

btw, they already have a beautiful mermaid in their tank that looks like their mama.

Mine also love bloodworms.

I've given them small, small amounts of chopped up bits of green vegetables as well, peas, zucchini and romaine lettuce.

They really love the peas. Peas tend to make fish poo and the last thing my goldies need to do is make more poo, know what I mean? LOL! They loooove them though, gobble it down like its candy and beg for more. I only give them a little bit, not very often and plan on vacuuming the bottom and doing a nice, big water change the next day or so.

Meal worms, hmmmmmmm. I'm assuming the come dried or frozen from the pet/fish store?

I think my guys use them as live bait for fishing. Now I'm wondering if I could feed them live to my goldies? Anyone know if that is ok? I know they sell them dirt-cheap, live, at the bait shop.

Yup. Those are the ones!!

I had to put my foot down a couple of summers ago, DH and boys would buy them for bait and then leave them in my refrigerator for me to have to deal with, UGH!

How do you feed them? Just drop 'em right into the tank? How many? How often?

when I had goldies..I would throw 3 or 4 in once a week...now that I have oscars and bigger kids, I put 7-8 twice a week lol..and our leopard ghecko eats them for her main diet...if they turn to beatles, I put them back to the oscars ...two for one kinda thing
