Is it white and in the form of a pyramid? If so those course more harm then good. Someone on here lost a fish because of that kind of feeder. I have never used them but I don't think they are well like around here. Someone with a bit more knowledge about this kind of stuff will be around shortly, but for the mean time. I herd some nice stuff about these

I have seen they at our local Wal-mart before and i bet you can find them at a big pet store like Petsmart or Petco. I will say now that i have not use this kind also. I don't travel much or for many day at one time.

Hope this helps

This may have just been my experience, but I've lost 5 fish using those Tetra feeders that andy linked to. Not saying it would happen to you, just saying my experience. I think for 5 days, before I left I would do a big WC, feed them, and then feed them again when you get back. I think that they'd be alright. I've left my fish alone for 4 with no ill effects.

I believe if you're only going away for 5 days then your fish will be fine. Just be sure to feed them before you leave. Fish can go for quite a while without food.

actually I would wait for a little better detailed instruction, I'm not an expert on those types of fish so I don't know if aggression will increase without food.

Yes it a white dome like thing.....i have kept it water since yesterday to check how it works....i can see it size reducing but i dont see anything coming out of it...a very slow dissolveng thing....btw how long can fish survive without food. Or i wll tell my friend to feed them once every alternate day during this 5 days.

I will let some one with a bit more experience help you.

I think that they will ok for 5 days but then as I said in my other post, I have not left my fish for more than a day.

For 5 days, I'd recommend not using a feeder and especially not one of those old-school feeders.. they can really do a tank a lot of harm even one not overstocked. Plus, if you're not there to maintain the water and do water changes, they'd be better off without food for that time.
