How do they chew?

When adding things such as cucumbers to a tank for my fish to eat so i need to mush it up or anything? or can i just add it without doing anything to it? How do the fish manage to bite any of it off without any teeth?

Most fish have some method of biting, though I will often chop a piece of veggie into tiny bits to make it easier for them to bite.

yeah but i use a veggie clip to weigh it down, so if you chop it up what do you do to keep it from floating?

I don't. In those cases, I just put them in at feeding time.

You can parboil the veggies for a bit to soften them up, then put them in the clips.
