Won't eat omega

I got some omega fish food today, after hearing everyone rant and rave about this stuff i figured my fish would freak out when i put it in the tank. They really didn't eat much of it...i've been feeding them this crappy knock off stuff that i got from walmart for the past month or so and they actually eat it like crazy...Do i just need to give them a few days to adjust to the omega? Or should i just stick with the knock off stuff?

There have been others with the same complaint.

I figure it's like the difference between Wonder Bread and some hearty whole-grain bread. The white stuff tastes really good, and if it's all you've ever had, the whole-grain stuff is kind of hard to swallow at first. It takes a while to get used to it.

Same thing happened when I switched my cats from Meow Mix to a much healthier type of catfood.

Your fish should get used to the difference, and once they do, will likely become brighter, more active, and generally healthier.

Some fish do seem to need time to adjust. Maybe even do half & half for a little bit. I guess our fish aren't picky, they just chomped up the omega as if they'd always been eating it.

so is it mean for me to only feed them omega until they begin to like it? Most of my guppies are starting to like it, but the mollies aren't diggin it

They can go a week without food with no harm and probably will start eating the omega flakes soon enough - unless they're the pickiest mollies that I've ever heard of.

The mollies would probably do okay for a week or so, but you don't want to push it too far.
Also, they might not be liking it because it doesn't have a high veggie ratio. The Tetra stuff barely resembles fish, and I doubt that mollies recognize it as such, but they might be putting their noses up at the Omega stuff because they know it's mostly animal products (mollies like a lot of veggies).
Not sure, just conjecture.

Might Omega One's kelp flakes be good for the mollies or perhaps their veggie rounds (I realize Omega One's veggie flakes is still mainly fish)?
