How big is a pinch O

Okay this sounds dumb but I need you all to weigh in on how much is a "pinch" of flake/granular fish food? And..........to act really dumb....."as much as your fish consume in several minutes".??

Is it just me, or what. My community tank fish are savages and and consume my "pinch" in about 5 seconds. Several minutes?? Veggies and seaweed salad are the only things that last any length of time................am I the only one??

BTW - wasn't there a "feeding" category somewhere before, or can I just not find it??

fish food is under the tank quipment section

for me, i feed enough so it takes about 2 minutes for them to eat. i would say thats about 2-3 flakes per fish for me. my corys and shrimp clean up anything that might make it to the bottom somehow

hope this helps

It's like a dash or a smidge or a bit or a sprinkle.. Hard to define, but each tank has it's own 'pinch' based on the fish in there.

Food is under Freshwater Equipment.

Val, for your pig-fish you could use a few pinches.

Now you be nice! I guess I do have big appetite fish: guppies; mollies (!!!) & esp. red eyes! If I kept feeding them for 2 minutes they would explode!

I have had a couple on nitrate spikes in the 55g, which I do 25% H2o changes on once a week/vacuum, etc. It isn't overstocked .I suddenly got worried that I was overfeeding , which I didn't think I was. But in that tank, feeding time is over quickly - drop it in, watch it go...............It only lasts longer if I put something like a piece of algae wafer or shrimp pellet, or variety disc in, then the mollies and Thor get to argue over it.

Maybe I just have big poopers!

Val ( thanks for reminding me where food thread are.....I was ebaying at the same time....too distracted)
