
Hi T. Barb Man My suggestion is to feed them a normal amount right before you leave, and don't worry about them.
The thing you don't want to have happen is for someone to feed for you and feed more than they need, or have an automatic feeder go haywire. Just the other day someone posted a thread about this, when they came home most of their fish were dead from an ammonia spike because of faulty feeding during a short vacation.
If your tank isn't fed, the fish do still pick at algae and plants, enough to keep them going.
