Duck weed

I've introduced some plants from a pond in my parents yard and I've inherited some duck weed with it - now the fish are absolutely loving it! I'm just wondering how complete a diet this will provide and if I should (and by how much) drop their food volumes.

I would not change feeding volume at all. The duckweed will act as a suppliment only, and most of those fish are not big enough to get all the duckweed gone before more grows.

nah all is well - the fish are having a really good crack at wiping out the plants though, lucky they're so prolific!

That's so weird...b/c we've had trouble keeping it here and water lettuce. Now our amazon swords have thrived.

My fish love the duck weed unfortunately its gone quickly, the only remnants left are wahts floating on top of wood or floating plants.

Our fish must be eating it... or the apple snails...something is stealing it from our 120g.

yea.. some fish have appetites that are even greater than the duck weed's ability to grow.

That's amazing - I'm actually worried that the coverage will inhibit O2/CO2 exchange at the surface - I've got 4 air stones running which creates 'fishing holes'. I know the fry I'm getting are enjoying hiding out in the root system.
