Re: Fish Food help plz
how big is your tank and do you have a testing kit yet? you have some fish that are going to get decent size when they're adults and some fish that are happier with buddies.
are those baby brine shrimp eggs that you have? feeding your fish a small pinch of flakes or pellets 2x a day should be ok and you'll want to see how much they eat so you can make that pinch the right amount to not have a lot leftover.

Re: Fish Food help plz
The rule of thumb is that a fishes stomach is no bigger than their eye, so this will help a bit. Never feed more at one time than the fish can clean up in 2 or 3 minutes. It is better to let them go a little hungry, than to over feed, and have food turning the water foul.
I feed three times a day, and feed two times with flakes or some other pellet food, for my algae eaters like plecos I always put out some algae wafers right before lights out, as well as some frozen blood worms or brine shrimp. This gives my fish that only come out at night like my Raphael cat to have their fill.......
You will have to determine by research just what each of the fish you have needs. Google the fish and it will tell if they are a carnivore, omnivore, or herbivore. So the carnivore eats meat, live, frozen, or dried. The Omnivore eats meat, and vegetables, the shrimp pellets, or tropical flakes are good, as well as frozen bloodworms or shrimp. The Herbivores eat vegetables, and need algae wafers, and will usually eat flakes as well.
Hope this helps.

is it in sheets or cubes? we thaw frozen food in a rubbermaid container with room temp tank water.. then we can feed the fish some and put the rest in the fridge.. we'll use it up to a week and toss the leftover.

Good Job on the photo! That looks like Freeze Dry food. Not Frozen. So first thing is they don't go in the freezer, you just keep them with your flake food, cool, out of the sun light. To feed that you would just maybe break a cube up and use some of it, just enough for the fish to eat it in a couple of minutes.

Re: Fish Food help plz
Giving them small amounts of thawed frozen food is a great treat for your fish.
Another nice treat for your fish is to add a live plant, fish love them!

Re: Fish Food help plz
a good thing to do with your foods would be to feed them flakes one day, pellets the next, brine shrimp the next and give them variety in their diet. i think fish like that and it's good for fish to have variety. we have 8 or 9 foods for our bettas to give them variety.
