Will a firemouth work with this?

I'm thinking of adding a single firemouth to a semi agressive community. The tank is 33 gallons and is stocked with 6 tiger barbs, 2 kribs, 2 rainbowfish, 2 clown loachs and 2 large pearl gourami's. Right now the gourami's are 3.5 inches and the next largest fish would be the rainbows at about 2 inches. Could I get some feedback on adding a small firemouth to this setup?

I think adding a firemouth would be fine. I have 2 firemouths and they get along great with everyone. I also have lots of caves and plants so that could be why but it wouldn't hurt to try and keep any eye on things...if it doesn't work out bring the firemouth back.

We picked up a single firemouth today. We wanted a pair but we were unable to tell the sexes since they were juveniles. He's been really well tempered so far. He does have alot of rocks/plants/wood in his/her home. I'll post some pics later on today we re aquascaped the tank.

Both of my firemouths are very peaceful but once in awhile I see the bigger firemouth chasing the smaller one but not relentlessly. You will be very happy with your firemouth I got mine both as juvi's and they have colored up nicely. i'd love to see a pic!

The new pics should be up in a minute in the photo section . My guy is picking up rocks and moving them around all day long . Hasn't bothered any fish because they just seem to get out of his way like they know they are no match for him. How do fish know that? Is it his big mouth or stocky build or what?
