Hello I was wondering if somebody could help me with a problem I am having with my filter. I have a 75 gallon tank, I have had this tank and filter for only about 1 month or month and a half. I have an issue with my water being cloudy. I noticed 2 weeks ago that the pressure coming out of the filter was low so I took it apart and clean everything including the tubes and the pressure seemed to be better but not like it was when i first got it.
So today i was doing a partical water change and i noticed the water pressure coming out is very low again. When i say low i mean it is probably running at maybe 50 gal an hour instead of 315 GPH which it is suppose to be.
I tried to call penn plax but the number that is in my paper is the wrong number it is some other business. So i looked up the number on google and called it but i have to leave a message.
Anyway does anybody know what it could be even after I cleaned the tubes all the floss and the impeller, I am so stumped.

hey john!
sounds like the hoses might be kinked or too long.they give you so much hose that i had to cut some off to get better pressure...its not dirty for just being a month old and id check under the cabinet at the hoses....i have the same filter on my 75g .love them!!

I checked the hoses and they are fine. well to prove to myself that the pressure is low, I set the filter next to a 5 gallon bucket filled with aquarium water ran the pump and then filled up a 1 gallon container. well it took 36 seconds so if i round that to 30 seconds it is only pumping 120 gallons an hour. So I took it to my LFS and they completly agraid that it was very low on pressure but didnt want to help me solve my problem.
I am very disappointed in penn plax not just because of the filter but there cusomer service. I called the number that came with the filter and it was the wrong number then i found the number on the internet called it and you have to leave a message on a voicemail and they are suppose to call me back. sorry for the blow up but I am very upset with this, I know equiptment will break down but when you call for service a month after you buy it and it is suppose to have a 3 yr warranty I would expect them to take care of the issue. Just my opinion. I might go out and just spend more money on a good filter anybody have any suggestions
