I got a 125 gal tank with two canisters. a xp2&xp3 by Rena.
I was wondering if their is any filter media out their that I can
just wash and reuse for a long time.

any type of quilting backing or polyester filling for pillows works amazing...you can get it at any craft store or walmart etc..just make sure its perfume and dye free!

I use several Rena canisters and agree with the filter floss. In addition, there is no reason to replace the Rena brand media as the manufacturer recommends. You can rinse in tank water and reuse until it's falling apart. Filter manufacturers just tell you to replace sponges, pads, ceramic media, etc. every few months so they can get you to buy their product.

All of the Renas I use are several years old and still have the original media in them.
