Too much for my tank?

Could my new Tetra internal whisper power filter 10/30 be too much for my 10 gal tank? I am using this tank for a hospital tank currently (it's easier to dose then my 6 gal) but my fish, a peppered cory and a CT betta boy seem to be struggling to keep from being pulled to it. I have found my betta right up against the intake several times. He is able to swim away on his own but I'm worried about his fins. My cory seems to really have to swim hard to escape the pull. help! recommendations? thoughts?

Generally speaking a tank can't have too much filtration, its actually good. However, if your fish are actually being sucked up by the current then i would suggest you add filter floss or just swap filters to a less powerful one. The betta could get his fins ripped if they get sucked into the filter.
