whats should my flow rate be for a 40 gal tank.... probly only have 30 gallons in it though, some one tell me what the GPH coming out my filter should be for 40 gallons, or if some one could give a table for GPH flow filter every 10 gallons that would be awesome.

It's usually recommended to have 8-10 times the flow rate hourly, so gph for a 40 gallon tank should be anywhere between 320-400gph.
