Welcome to Fishlore luman!!
Seeing as the tank is empty you can work out the exact volume by pouring in an exact amount of water, say 20lts. Measure how much that fills the tank in cms from the base glass. Then all you need to do is multiply the figure you have in cms to the full tank depth. If 20lts fills the tank, say 5cms, you will need to multiply 5cm 18 times to get to the full tank depth. 18 multiplied by 20 is 360lts of water to fill the tank. Remember that is just hypothetical, not how much your tank actually holds. I get the tanks volume to be about 300lts just off the top of my head.

For filtration I would go for 2 x canister filters that are suited to tanks of about 250-400lts. When it comes to filtration there are better minds on this forum than mine so hopefully one of them will be along shortly to help you out. At least you can work out your tanks exact volume so that you can start to work on your filter options yourself.

Hi luman and WELCOME TO FISHLORE!

It's great that you're getting in to this hobby and joined this great place to share it. Just a note, please update your aquarium info so that other members can know that you have knowledge of the nitrogen cycle without them asking and etc... Hope to see pictures of your tank as soon as its up and running Feel free to ask any questions or for advices from our helpful members here.

Best of luck!

It depends what you want to put in it really. In the aquarium hobby, size isn't everything!!

What do you intend to keep in there?

Hello Luman. It sounds like you have a very nice tank. However, I personally would not recommend Discus fish for beginners. Of course the decision is up to you. They are very delicate fish requiring pristine water conditions and lots of water changes for them to survive. Here is a link you may find helpful concerning Discus:
DISCUS CARE SHEET
Best of luck!

just read the care sheet for the discus, might steer clear of them for a bit just to be safe...
are angles a good fish?

Luman it's great that you are doing research before stocking your tank! By doing so you'll have a lot less headaches in the long run

If you'll go to the top right hand side of this screen, you can do a "search" for just about any type of aquarium fish you may be interested in.

As for Angels...it's suggested that you only have 2 per tank, male and female. They are cichlids and can be very aggressive towards each other especially during mating time. They do like tall tanks with lost of plants (fake or real) Very territorial fish and can be delicate at times and need proper acclimation into your tank. I would suggest having Angels in a well established tank at least several months old. If you're going to add them with other community fish, I suggest adding them last to help with territory issues.

angels are beautiful fish. But they need to be in pairs or to be safe just keep one pair. They are very territorial and will eat any fish that can fit in their mouth.
