Question about filtration

I have a filter that does 66 GPH on my 2.5 gallon tank. Is it too much?

I don't think it is, why is your betta getting too much current?

nope the outtake points to the glass and slows the current, so he's not being pushed around, but the tank is spotless!

You can have too much current but too much filtration, I don't know.

The GPH will be on the box your filter came in, or google your filter make/model and look up the manuel online and you should be able to find it there.

But what if ur filter has an adjustment thing and you adjust it to about 1/2 output?

Find the GPH and cut it in half.
You will rarely get the max output anyway. As soon as your media gets some junk on it it will slow down flow, all you can do is know what the GPH are and try and figure out what you are truely getting.

good to know! when i first bought my filter, it came with my 10g, but after it broke, i transfered it to my 2.5g. When i was installing it, it came with a sticker which showed the Volts (for the plug) and the pH and the year it was made, i pulled it off and taped it to the box it came with., I ran into the box a couple days ago and noticed all the filtratonl, so i wondered if it was too much

i think it is a pretty good filter... for small tanks anyway... its an internal filter haha

As long as it isn't blowing the fish around, can you have too much
