I unplugged my AC 30 to to some maintainence because it was making a bubbling, gurgling sound. I rinsed the media, thinking that it was clogged (it was pretty thick so I think that was part of the problem) so I plugged it in and the motor won't start again. What did I do? What do I do!?!

make sure the filter is filled with water. This has happened to me before... the motor wasnt working because the motor wasnt under water...
check that and see if that's the prob...

If not that give it a little bit to cool off and try again. Sometimes it will hum lightly but not really churn like usual. Stick something down there to push the impeller further down and see if that helps.

That's basically it. If you didn't have the filter primed (the intake/media compartments filled with water), the motor can overheat and it won't turn on.

Outboard motors on many power filter can get hot and burn up rather quickly if run dry.

Usually it's starts making sucking/gurgling sounds as it tries to suck up water so I was waiting for that. Oh well it's running now, really glad because it's on the tank in my bedroom and I can't sleep with noisy filters.

one tip I will give to everyone is make sure your Aquaclear is sitting level on the tank. Rotate the little black leveler piece on the bottom until your filter sits properly. I had this happen to my aquaclear after I did a tank cleaning it didn't come back on either. Then I found out about keeping it level and I realized my filter was tilted to far to the back. After that I fixed it so it was sitting level and ever since then it always turns back on after being off.
